- Juneteenth in the Twin Cities
June 19 | North Mississippi Regional Park | Website The Twin Cities honor African American heritage at Juneteenth in North Mississippi Regional Park. Events include a play telling the story of Juneteenth, an Underground Railroad re-enactment, a festival and youth sports.
- Music Festival on Harriet Island
June 23 & 24 | Harriet Island Hosted by Live Nation, this yet-to-be-named music festival is predicting to draw 40,000 concert-goers to Harriet Island for an epic gathering on par with Chicago's Lollapalooza. Bands are TBA and may include rock acts, country acts or a little of both.

- City of Lakes Tri-Loppet
Dates TBA | Starts at Lake Calhoun | Website The natural beauty of Minnesota is on full display for this rigorous triathlon. Competitors test their skills with an 8K paddle, 5K trail run and 11K mountain bike.
- 2012 Pride Festival and Parade
Dates TBA | Loring Park | Website Twin Cities Pride hosts this admission free festival in beautiful Loring Park. Festival attractions include a beer garden and Pride in Concert headline show. The annual Pride Parade is hosted on Saturday.

- Irish Fair of Minnesota
August 10 & 12 | Harriet Island | Website Harriet Island Regional Park hosts this always entertaining Irish festival on the banks of the Mississippi River. Admission and traditional Irish entertainment are free, or you can purchase all-day food and beer vouchers.
- Minnesota Renaissance Festival
Dates TBA | Fairgrounds in Shakopee, MN | Website Minnesota delivers one of the nation’s largest Renaissance Festivals. Attractions include costumed interpreters, live jousting, themed weekends, artisan booths and Renaissance Festival cuisine. Costumes encouraged. The festival is on weekends and special weekdays.
- Minnesota State Fair
